The X-100 user manual is here

New section added; Troubleshooting your X-100

How does it sound? Will my tone by affected?

o This is a sound sample of the X100 used on a guitar. The guitar is a Jackson made in India with Elixir strings. Because it's a passive guitar, the X100 sender preamp is activated so the input impedance is 1mohm and the tone is preserved. There is no effects, pedals, amps or mic. The receiver output is directly sent to a M-audio delta series sound card input and recorded at 44.1khz, 16 bits, mono (X-100 transmission quality is 48KHZ 16bits).

Can multiple systems be used simultaneously?

o Yes, up to 40 different X-100 systems will operate in the same environement.

• Can I send two seperate audio signals using left and right?

o Yes. And note that the left channel have the option to use the preamp. (high impedance input with gain control)

• When will I receive my unit after you ship?

o To keep our product price low, we ship using Canada post. USA shipping takes up to 10 business days and Canada is maximum 7. JD-XLABs usually ship next business day. If you'd like to have your unit faster using UPS or Fedex carrier, contact us with your full shipping address for pricing adjustements.

• Will it work with 1 tranmiter and several recievers?

o No. It's only point to point for the moment.

• What about the material it's made of?

o X-100 case is made of plasic.

• What colors are avalables?

o We currently manufacture in black only.

• What happens when the integrated rechargable battery goes bad, after 500 cycles for example?

o If you are using the system twice a week, you will have about 3 years of life. Furthermore, the battery will give 500 COMPLETE discharge / charge cycles. If you discharge half the batteries each time, you will have 1000 cycles. However, JD-XLABs is offering battery replacement service. There is no price for that yet but would be very cheap (around 35$). Remember that using another battery operated wireless that use 9V or AA batteries 500 times would cost way much more than the X-100 price itself...

• What about the latency between sender and the receiver? Is it noticeable?

o It may or not be noticeable depending on your own perception and played instrument. Singers, Saxophonist and lead guitarists may feel it more than others. Keyboard, Drum, Bass, violin should not. The X-100 delay is the equivalent to be ~20 feet away from your amp and usually the brain get used to the delay really quick. Playing with the band also decrease effect.

o Detailled information here;Study about audio latency and human perception. Experiment performed on 19 musiciens (11 professionals) shows that the acceptable amount of latency can go up to 42ms. Keyboardist are not affected at all by a 25ms delay. Drummer and bassist are also giving a 'fair' rating up to 30ms.
